Candy apples, and Carmel Apples, are whole apples covered in a hard sugar candy coating or carmel. While the topping varies from place to place, it is almost always served with a stick of sorts in the middle making them easier to eat. Candy apples are a common treat at autumn festivals, such as Halloween because the holiday comes in the wake of the annual apple harvest. In the United States, candy apples are most commonly eaten during the Halloween season or at carnivals and fairs.
In Utah we have a blessed candy store known as the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. ( Visit them here http://www.rmcf.com/ ) Anyhow, they have the most delectable Candied Apples ever…you must make a trip to a store to get one, but if you get a chance, I highly recommend one!
