This is what it is all about.

I’ve been throwing this idea around for a while about actually going back to school and taking some creative writing classes. I don’t think I really have the Magic to be the next J.K. Rowling or anything like that, but how do you bring this up at the dinner table? “Honey, I’ve been thinking about quitting my job to write a kids book.” No I just don’t think so. Don’t get me wrong here; the old man is very supportive of my writing. After the first few months of marriage he got used to the idea that any given night I would wake up and write down my dreams in a journal I keep by my bed. He has even got used to the strange photos I take & newspaper clippings of things I want to put in my journal.

But when have you pushed it to far? Could it possibly be that I bought a book of baby names just to find meaningful names for characters in stories? I don’t know, and I’m still to shy to just throw a story out to the public eye for ridicule, even though I know I need the criticism.

Don’t underestimate yourself! You’ve got talent.

You should post your first story online.

Hey! I write children’s stuff too. Mine are often in the rhyming or Dr. Seuss style. I also have written enough children’s prayers to fill a book. I too, rarely show them to anyone so I know what you mean.

I don’t know if I’d post original work online though.. too easy for people to steal. I’d like to think the world is full of good people only, but hey.. I’m one of those people that believe Rowling did get the idea for Harry Potter from someone else and just happened to be the one that got famous for it.

You should find someone you trust, show them in private, and then go from there.

Perhaps you should add a donation button to your blog and designate any “tips” towards self-publishing a book and then selling that online?

Anyway… just want to leave encouragement for you! Writing is something that’s either in you or not. If it’s in you… then you should try go somewhere with it.

Ohhh…thanks. That means a lot girl, sometimes encouragement from an outside source is all you need.
